Google Voice is a free telephone service that allocates users a free number which can connect a range of different devices so you never miss a call. Sophisticated voice to text capabilities also allow voicemails to be transcribed, saved or forwarded to different devices.

The ability to record conversations

Google Voice is similar to a personal telephone answering service. Rather than storing multiple numbers for the same person, the free Google Voice number calls all devices so you need never miss a call. Users can choose which devices they want to ring for different contacts at different times of the day. For example, calls from close friends can be directly routed to a mobile while work numbers can be directed to voicemail outside of working hours. Conversations can be recorded mid-call simply by pressing a button. Voice transcription also allows voicemails to be stored and sent to different devices or entire conversations can be recorded and stored indefinitely.

Complete control of telephone answering

Google Voice offers a variety of call screening options incuding listening to voice messages and the ability to answer mid-call. Numbers can also be easily blocked or directly sent to voicemail. The service is entirely free and can also include discounts on international calls. However, it is not internationally available on all operating systems.
